on this world polio day ,I want to play my part in raising awareness about polio, polio is disabling and life threatening disease caused by poliovirus that attacks the nervous system. It's estimated that 95 to 99 percent of people who contract poliovirus are asymptomatic and few of them shows symptoms :-
fever ,sore throat, headache, vomiting, fatigue, meningitis. Doctors can only treat the symptoms while the infection runs its course. But since there’s no cure, the best way to treat polio is to prevent it with vaccinations.

With a consistent decrease in reported polio cases as well as in the detection of the virus in environmental samples, UNICEF described Pakistan as “closest to the finish line”.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are often referred to as the two remaining countries that are not polio-free, they comprise “a single epidemiological block”. Pakistan, had shown progress in the polio eradication journey, it is too soon to say that polio cases will not re-emerge there.
