Quiet Exercises for Apartment Living

@Zain Ali that is so true. I also used to think that only strength training would give me results. It has been hard to figure out the best approach for myself, especially since I do not have much space in my apartment.

your experience with exploring different styles sounds interesting. What other workouts did you try besides bodyweight exercises? I am looking for something that can keep me engaged and help me progress without disturbing anyone.

@Daniyal Sheikh I can totally relate to that. Everyone starts with good intentions, but accidents happen. A few weeks ago, I was trying to do some dips and my foot slipped, and I ended up knocking over a chair.

The noise was not fun. It definitely gets tricky when you are in an apartment. I have been thinking about investing in some rubber mats or something similar to help reduce noise.

have you tried any padding or soundproofing solutions in your space? It is always a balance between keeping fit and not bothering your neighbors.

@Hamza Butt thanks for the suggestion about step ups! I have seen some videos of them, and they look like a great way to get a solid workout.

I am just a bit concerned about using a chair in my apartment. it is kind of old, and I am not sure if a regular chair can handle my weight safely. Do you think there is a specific type of chair that is better for this, or should I just stick to bodyweight exercises?

@Daniyal Sheikh it is not just about squats and planks, there are definitely quieter options. tricep dips can create quite a noise if you drop weights, but bodyweight movements are perfect.

i have found that doing exercises like glute bridges or even wall sits can be super effective without disturbing anyone. These do not require any equipment and you can really make them count for strength training.

Using a firm surface for something like step ups could be risky, especially if it is not sturdy. Maybe look at investing in some mats or cushioning to dampen sound? This could save some drama with neighbors.
