- Tarbooz ka chilka (Watermelon rind) as required
- Boiling water as required
- Sugar 3 Cups
- Water 1 & ½ Cup
- Kewra essence few drops
- Red food color as required
- Green food color as required
- Orange food color as required
Directions:
- Peel watermelon rind with the help of peeler.
- Cut white part into small cubes & set aside (approx. ½ kg).
- In a pot,add water & bring it to boil.
- Add watermelon cubes & bring it to boil,cover & cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes then strain & set aside.
- In a pot,add sugar, water,mix well & cook until sugar is dissolved
- Add kewra essence,boiled watermelon cubes,mix well,bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.
- Divide prepared watermelon cubes in 3 separate bowls.
- Add red food color,green food color & orange food color in each bowls respectively,mix well & allow to soak for 5-6 hours or overnight.
- Drain excess liquid & let it air dry for few hours.
- Once the tutti-frutti dries off completely it will not be sticky,mix the colors together.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 6 months (shelf life) or refrigerate until use.
