High protein meals for hostel life?

@Rohaan Gillani thanks for the suggestion! I totally agree that adding spices can make a huge difference. I usually have cumin and red chili powder on hand, but I am not always sure how much to add without overdoing it.

also, do you think adding chopped onions changes the flavor a lot? I have not tried that yet. If I try it, how should I prepare the onions for the best result?

Instead of focusing solely on traditional options, consider looking into dairy products like paneer or even cottage cheese. They are rich in protein and can be mixed into salads or eaten on their own.

@Salman Tariq thanks for the suggestion about boiled eggs! I have not really considered them as a quick protein source before. They do sound easy to prepare, especially in a hostel where time is tight.

i am curious though, how do you usually season them? I want to ensure they taste good, otherwise, I might end up not eating them.

Also, how do you usually store them if you make a batch ahead of time? I do not have a lot of fridge space.

when I was living in a hostel, I made the mistake of relying too much on ready made snacks. they do not provide the nutrients needed, and I felt drained after a while.

@Anum Khan Thanks for the suggestion! i have been thinking about adding more dairy to my meals. paneer sounds easy to work with, especially since it does not need cooking like some other protein sources.

Do you have any specific ideas for how to incorporate paneer into a quick meal? i have limited time in the hostel kitchen and I want something that will not take too long to prepare.

@Khurram Shahzad Boiled eggs waqai aik zabardast protein option hain. Main toh usually simple rakhta hoon, salt aur pepper laga leta hoon. Agar flavour aur enhance karna hai, thoRA chaat masala sprinkle kar len, fauran taste mein change aa jaata hai.

Storage ke liye, main ne dekha hai ke shell mein rehne se eggs zyada fresh rehte hain. Shuruaati haftay mein ek batch boil kar lein aur fridge mein store kar lein.

Ye jaldi grab karne ke liye perfect hain aur ek hafte tak araam se chalte hain. Agar variety ka mood hai, toh boiled eggs ko salad mein mila lein ya yogurt aur spices ke saath mix kar lein. Ye aik flexible aur hostel friendly option hai!

@Bilal Ahmed Thanks for the suggestion about boiled eggs! I appreciate the tip about adding chaat masala for flavor. i have been a bit worried about how to store them safely, since my hostel fridge space is very limited. Do you have any advice on how to keep them fresh longer? I do not want to waste any food.

@Arsalan Javed Boiled chana chaat does sound nice, but it can get boring if you eat it too often. I used to make it too, but I found it was lacking in variety and nutrients after a while.

What worked better for me was adding some boiled eggs or even a little bit of grilled chicken. It added extra protein and totally changed the flavor.

I also played around with different seasonings, like adding lemon juice or chat masala for a fresh twist. Trying to balance nutrition while being on a limited budget is tough.

I always looked for ways to mix it up, you know? It is all about finding quick meals that keep things interesting but still keep your energy up for studying.
