Rawalpindi has descended into chaos as garbage piles up across the city after the district administration and police sealed all major routes for the third consecutive day.
The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has been unable to operate, resulting in an overwhelming accumulation of waste that has become a public health hazard.
Overflowing garbage bins and discarded waste have attracted pests, exacerbating the foul odor permeating neighborhoods, particularly around local markets.
With rain forecasted, citizens are alarmed at the potential for waste to spread further. Protests against the administration’s negligence are set to occur today, demanding immediate action.

Rawalpindi is in disarray as a result of blocked roads that prevent waste collection, resulting in a mountain of trash, increasing health risks, and citizens organising protests in demand of immediate action.
