Following cricket, the Hockey Federation has also opted for a foreign head coach. Newly elected President Tariq Bugti plans to address hockey matters with the Prime Minister post-Eid, with Roelant Oltmans emerging as a leading contender to help the Pakistan Hockey Team.
President PHF Tariq Bugti has affirmed communication with Oltmans, emphasizing that Pakistani coaches will collaborate with foreign counterparts to address player deficiencies. The integration of foreign coaches is envisaged to enhance team performance, leveraging their expertise in modern hockey.
The national team's training camp for the Azlan Shah hockey tournament is slated for April 15 in Islamabad, with 44 players receiving invitations. The final roster announcement is imminent.
Expressing his resolve, Tariq Bugti aims to elevate Pakistan to the top six hockey teams globally within two years. He pledges the team's participation in all upcoming events.
