Afghanistan can be called the playground of US and Russia and of course the Taliban. It can be said that the instability in the country and central Asia could be to control the oil prices but now its not the case.
US though tried to militarize the country got itself in a mess which it realized and pull back its forces as soon as they recognized the issue.
The country has a history of political instability and long years of fighting which has strengthened the people of the country for protest against powers trying to change the scenario. No country could ever completely hold Afghanistan because of its citizen's fighting spirit.
talking about the history, Afghanistan has been on the famous silk route which made it a trade center and a point where Indian subcontinent was connected to west. From alexander to the British to Mongols to Mughals each of them held some part of the country as their empire. before the Muslim invasion the country was mostly Buddhist and Zoroastrian. in the 11th century Mahmud Ghazni Islamized the wide area of the country. Afghanistan has also been victim of 2 civil wars.
Now in the present era, Afghanistan is on the road of progress and democracy trying to establish a peaceful nation in which many developing countries are helping it.

Afghanistan became a country in 1709.
Afghanistan recognizes its independence day as August 19, the date in 1919 when the country became fully independent of British rule.

The birth of the nation of Afghanistan came in the 18th century and its father was Ahmad Shah Abdali. After the assassination of Nader Shah of the Afsharid Empire in 1747, Ahmad Shah Abdali rushed to confirm the death of his emperor. After seeing Nader Shah’s body, Ahmad Shah took the Koh-i-Noor diamond and the royal seal. He realized that he and his men were no longer safe in the Persian camp. With his 4,000 Abdali cavalry force, Ahmad Shah rode to Kandahar. In Kandahar, a Loya Jirga was held to determine the future of the region. During this Ahmad Shah Abdali was chosen as the new ruler. He took the title Durr-i-Durrani (the pearl of pearls). Ahmad Shah beings a series of military conquests which united all of Afghanistan. He also invaded parts of Iran, Central Asia and India. With his blade, Ahmad Shah Durrani carved out the Durrani Empire. An empire which was dominated and ruled by ethnic Afghans/Pashtun. This was the origin of the idea of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has little Development in many areas of knowledge. And History being one of those areas. There is so little development in this subject that it has become embarrassing.

A geographical area from Oxus to Indus rivers. Many people attacked Afghanistan and many have been attacked by Afghans including India, present day Pakistan, Iran and some parts of central Asia but at the end the area is the same. In 1892 Afghanistan went in a treaty with Britishers to let them control some part of Afghanistan for 100 years only (Peshawar and Quetta) for the sake of ceasefire and now Pakistan have illegal occupied that parts (Durand line). Afghanistan used to be a country of good, talented and educated people in 1950s to 1970s. When USSR wanted to attack Pakistan in order to reach the Karachi hot port, Pakistan and fool Afghans started war with USSR and hence Afghanistan become a devastated country. The history of NATO and Taliban are actually recent and everyone know that NATO was invited by Pakistan through Taliban and now NATO is gone through Taliban and even USA have destroyed a well established democratic government of Afghanistan in order to make Taliban in power again. Over all, we have opportunities but we missed because we believe Pakistan is our religious brother and that is our stupidity because Pakistan is not our brother but a hypocrite enemy and That's our history.
